13 June 1973: Brisbane’s BTQ7 screens the stage production of rock musical Tommy, starring Keith Moon, Daryl Braithwaite, Colleen Hewett, Doug Parkinson and Broderick Smith, performed earlier in the year at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne.

13 June 1988: The premiere of Nine’s late afternoon news and magazine program, Live At Five, with Terry Willesee and Jo Pearson (pictured). Network Ten responds with 20-year-old re-runs of the sitcom The Munsters, hoping to emulate the surprise success that Nine previously had with a similar classic series, The Addams Family, in the 5.00pm timeslot. Live At Five, an expensive gamble to expand news ahead of the traditional 6.00pm hour, failed to work. It was cut down to a half-hour show, Eye On Australia, before being axed completely in July 1989.

13 June 2000: Seven‘s long-running game show Wheel Of Fortune celebrates its 2000th episode. The show began in 1981 and continued through to 2006.
