From that day, ABC TV Plus will become ABC Family, and ABC ME becomes ABC Entertains.
ABC Family (channel 22) will present prime-time viewing from 7.30pm, after ABC Kids signs off, promising family-friendly comedies, documentaries, movies and a new series, Hard Quiz Kids.
ABC Entertains (channel 23) will build on ABC’s catalogue of comedy and entertainment. In the mornings the channel will feature cartoon and educational programming, such as Behind The News, for primary school age viewers.
The revamp will also include four new program streams on ABC iview:
- Cartoons: Animation for children aged 7–12 years.
- 100% Faves: Live action favourites for children aged 7–12 years.
- Family Faves: Family content available 24/7
- BTN: BTN and other educational content for kids.
