Monday 29 August 1977 — MELBOURNE

Seven presents live coverage of “football’s night of nights”, the Brownlow Medal Count from the Southern Cross Hotel, hosted by football commentator Peter Ewin.

ATV0 launches a new daytime line-up in a further attempt to combat The Mike Walsh Show, which it lost to Nine at the end of 1976. Replacing the former line-up of the midday movie and re-runs of Matlock Police are US soaps As The World Turns and Ryan’s Hope, followed by Sydney-based variety show Keep Pace With Harriet, featuring Johnny Pace and Harriet. The pair were previously seen on the game show The Celebrity Game and in the telemovie All At Sea.
