Wednesday 13 July 1977 — MELBOURNE

After the demise of Number 96 and The Box, the 0-10 Network had commissioned Crawford Productions to produce a new ‘quality’ adults-only soap opera drama. The company responded with Hotel Story, proposing 26 weekly episodes. After only seven episodes were produced network executives previewed the opening episode and immediately canned production. With the premature cancellation of the show generating media coverage ATV0 proceeded to rush the completed handful of episodes to air, leaving viewers to see for themselves what all the fuss was about.
