Monday 11 February 1985 — ADELAIDE

Midday With Ray Martin makes its debut, replacing The Mike Walsh Show. In the interim months between the two shows, the Ten Network took the opportunity to launch its own new midday program, Good Afternoon Australia, with Gordon Elliott and Katrina Lee. Good Afternoon Australia only lasted a couple of months before being revamped as After Noon, with Tony Murphy replacing Gordon Elliott. After Noon only lasted a few months while Midday continued in various forms until 1998.

Nine also launches Blankety Blanks with Daryl Somers, a revival of the popular game show hosted by Graham Kennedy in the late 1970s — which is screening in repeats on SAS10.
