The 1959 VFL Grand Final, Melbourne versus Essendon, is telecast live on ABV2, HSV7 and GTV9. As per usual protocol with broadcasting of VFL matches at the time, only the final quarter of play is allowed to be telecast. ABV2 and GTV9 also present filmed replays of the final quarter later in the evening. HSV7 presents a replay of final quarter during World Of Sport the following afternoon.
