Tuesday 26 January 1982 — SYDNEY

Australia Day in 1982.  Throughout the week, SBS presents a range of programs and vintage Australian films in a tribute to the early Australian film industry. Tonight features the 1938 comedy Tall Timbers. Other films appearing during the week include Dad And Dave Come To Town, It Isn’t Done, Orphan In The Wilderness and Gone To The Dogs.

Also featuring on SBS each weeknight this week is the series Aussies From All Over, taking a look at Australians from various cultural backgrounds who are combining their traditional cultures to the Australian way of life.

Rolf Harris hosts the Australia Day Live concert from Sydney’s Her Majesty’s Theatre, broadcast on ABC. Also featured in the special are Marcia Hines, Jane Scali, Joe Dolce, John Williams, Simon Gallaher and the Australian Dance Theatre.
