TVW7’s annual Telethon is back for its ninth year. The 1976 telethon was raising funds for the construction of Sir David Brand Children’s Centre, in the Perth suburb of Coolbinia.
Interstate guests to appear on Telethon included Jeanne Little, Pat McDonald, Bunney Brooke, Stuart Wagstaff, Abigail, Denise Drysdale, John Paul Young, Mark Holden, Chantal Contouri and Denis Walter. Local personalities included Jeff Newman, Gary Carvolth, Marie van Maaren, Sandy Baker, John Fryer, Peter Dean, Sam Kronja, Judy Thompson, Peter Waltham and Bill Gill.
The telethon raised a total of $721,624 — including the auction of the Telethon house, which was sold for $62,500.
