The first presentation of The Australian TV And Film Awards, nicknamed The Sammys. The awards were a joint venture between TV Times, the Seven Network and the Variety Club of Australia as a rival to the TV Week Logie Awards.

The 1976 awards were hosted by David Frost and held at the Sydney Opera House.

The Sammys were presented annually until 1981.
