Friday 7 May 1965 — BRISBANE

Franquin, a famous hypnotist, hosts the new quiz show Double Your Dollars. Debuting in April, and when Australia was still using imperial currency, it was timed to coincide with the start of an education campaign ahead of Australia’s conversion to decimal currency in 1966.

Double Your Dollars was not well received and was axed by the end of June, with its last episodes airing in July.
