Wednesday 7 February 1990 — MELBOURNE

The Nine Network debuts another in its line of ultimately ill-fated soaps, Family And Friends. The series screened twice a week, up against Ten’s E Street, before being shifted to an afternoon timeslot and then playing out its remaining episodes over the following summer.

Ten screens a re-run of its award-winning 1987 mini-series Vietnam, starring Barry Otto, Nicholas Eadie, Nicole Kidman and Veronica Lang.
