101 Australia Square was a pilot proposed to be made in October 1975 by English director David Collins. Described as a “spoof spy thriller” and reported in the press a month earlier, it was to feature Sydney’s historic Vaucluse House, posing as the home of dowager Lady Phoebe (drag performer Tracey Lee), an eccentric employer of secret agent Royce Melton (Peter Adams, then of Number 96 fame).

Melton’s office is located at 101 Australia Square and he is assisted by Alex Devine (Chelsea Brown) and Nikki (singer Marty Rhone).

Kevin Healy was also cast as Inspector Gibbons.

Collins was determined to pitch the completed pilot to British television executives, insisting that he would not approach any Australian network unless he could secure an overseas buyer first.

Nothing was heard of 101 Australia Square ever since!
