I’m around the same age and have fond memories of the show…I still remember when Miss Marilyn announced that we had landed on the moon and the Russians had crashed so we (in Australia) won the race LOL

Many fond memories of time spent recording and appearing on many of the episodes on Super Flying Fun Show with my band Grand Junction in the 70’s with our mentor Smoky Dawson.
Some very funny interaction between us and Marty who was a real charactor when recording the weekly shows.
Would love to see some of those old clips again.

Hello Bruce, I have such fond memories of Marilyn and the cast and crew of SFFS when our band “The Magpies” had a spot in the early ’70’s (we were very much a “kid’s band”). We then went on to play alongside Marilyn at the various David Jones stores around Sydney during the following Christmas holidays providing music for kid’s fashion shows. I recall her taking me “under her wing” to help with commentary during those holidays. I was very much infatuated with everything about her and wishing at the time that I was 10 years older. I sincerely hope and pray she recovers from last week’s stroke.

Is she ok. I had a major crush on her during the 70s. I won some prizes on the show a few times.

We won free “Big Macs” at some new chain of fast foods called McDonalds from the show. There was only one store in Victoria. Wow. Getting out of bed and getting to school after watching this show every day.

Mary, will pass your message on to Marilyn, who is in St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst, having suffered a stroke two weeks ago. She is hoping to start rehab tomorrow in the facility across the road from the hospital. Best, Juliana (school friend)

I am 85 and,in those days,a wedding photographer and remember Marilyn walking over from the Chevron many years ago accompanied by an American who thought he was on a good thing but she had other ideas, opened her car door, climbed in then drove off leaving him standing there.

I wish her all the best after her stroke. I have had open heart surgery (quad bypass) 5 years ago and now all seems to be great!

Hope Marilyn is getting well again. It would be great if she could be told how fondly she is thought of by the kids of the 70’s. She was a beautiful lady and I send her my love.

I was one of the personalities who joined SFFS 1974-76 and have many fond memories of Ms Marilyn and crew. She was always very professional in every way. I recall one time when the crew wound forward the clock in anticipation for Wing Dings usual Monday morning stint with Marilyn who would say: “ and what did you do on the weekend” To which Wing Ding replied: “ just rooting around!” Well you should have seen the shocked look on Ms Marilyn’s face when the video was played back . Love and miss you. Cheers Marshall.

I found this page after a trip down memory lane brought me here. I was thinking about Miss Marilyn and how much I loved the show before school. Such great memories. I remember she was very pretty. I hope she’s doing ok. She and her family should know how fondly us kids of the 70’s remember her. She was a lovely part of school day mornings!

I remember all of those shows but the one I watched was when she hosted a late night movie show that featured horror movies. She would do the intro & a talk up midway. A beautiful lady & we’ll remembered

  1. In this day and age with the internet I thought I might be able find some SFFS episodes on YouTube but sadly no. I ate cornflakes every morning while glued to the TV. It sounds like I was not the only 8 year old in love with Miss Marilyn. So sad to read about her stroke in 2020. I wonder if anyone has an update.
