Nicholas Eadie, acclaimed television, film and theatre actor, has died.
Born in 1958 the son of ABC radio broadcaster Mervyn Eadie, he was a NIDA graduate and made his television debut in Cop Shop, playing the role of Constable Sam Phillips for two years.
He went on to another policeman role in children’s series The Henderson Kids in 1984, starring with newcomers Nadine Garner and Kylie Minogue, before a leading role in the Nine Network mini-series The Lancaster Miller Affair.
He won Logie and AFI awards for his performance in the Network Ten mini-series Vietnam, starring with Barry Otto, Mark Lee, Veronica Lang, John Polson and Nicole Kidman.

Other TV credits included Willesee’s Australians, Fragments Of War: The Story Of Damian Parer, Tracks Of Glory and guest roles in GP, A Country Practice and Embassy.
He starred in the Seven Network drama series Over The Hill with Georgie Parker (pictured), and in the Brisbane-based medical drama Medivac.
Later TV credits included A Difficult Woman, Halifax fp, BeastMaster, The Society Murders and Underbelly Files: The Man Who Got Away.
He was a prolific theatre actor for over 30 years, starring in productions including Strife, Macbeth, The Sentimental Bloke, Don’s Party, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Taming Of The Shrew, Mamma Mia! and Holding The Man.
