The Nine Network has announced that it will launch a new channel, 9Rush, at 7.00pm on Sunday 5 April.
The new channel, with a focus on reality and adventure programming from Discovery Inc, will broadcast on channel 96.
9Rush will launch with the premiere of the new series of Top Gear UK. Other programs to feature include Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail, Street Outlaws, Live PD, Kindig Customs, Alaskan Bush People, Running Wild With Bear Grylls and Man v Wild. Nine bills the programming line-up as new to free-to-air.
Nine’s program director Hamish Turner said in a statement issued today: “Nine are thrilled to partner with Discovery to deliver premium, free to air first content. As a global leader in real-life entertainment, Discovery’s dedication to serving audiences with content which inspires, informs and entertains is second to none.
“The deal will deliver Nine and 9Now thousands of free to air premiere episodes. 9Rush audiences will be spoilt for choice, with an extensive range of high action and adventure programming, available on Australia’s latest channel and available free on 9Now.”
It is not clear if the new channel will be available through Nine’s regional affiliates including Southern Cross, Tasmania Digital Television, Nine West and Imparja.

Crap that Tasmania is classed as regional, discriminatory to all in a whole state, hate 9 network
To be fair the Nine Network doesn’t decide what counts as regional. Nine Tasmania is owned jointly by WIN and Southern Cross. Might be something to take up with them.
Meanwhile, check if the new channel is online at 9Now
While I don’t have subscription TV, I know that there is are a number of Discovery channels.
9Rush’s selection of programming are very narrow. Discovery produce other kinds of shows including history, astronomy and natural history. Why didn’t 9 do a deal to include these kinds of documentaries?

What is the reason for not having street outlaws on in the morning ???You put on crap like salvage hunters on and there is no rush in that at all. All my friends and I want it to be put back on. I get up earlier every morning to watch street outlaws even if it is a repeat.
Perhaps refer your feedback to Channel 9
And the constant repeats seem to have even more ads.

Maybe in the next millenium but from what I’ve seen in not missing anything. Just watching a car Reno show that looks like a cheap version of car so from the UK.

hello there,just wondering after watching alaskan bush people,bear grylls etc on 9 rush etc so when the station goes for an add break then comes back to the show,why again is there another “add break”when there just has been?.it makes the programs shorter with 2 add breaks in one.why does 9 rush do this?very strange indeed!! .any chance you can fix this? so,when the add break is finished,then the show resumes,only for a few seconds then back to another add.never seen this before totally shortens the show by playing 2 adds in one.you need to get rid of this rediculous idea and if you have to,just have a normal add break,then back to the show.

Hi David , I also live in Queensland & I also don’t understand why we are having Wheeler & Dealers , It doesn’t represent cars we have here , Mike Brewer is about as funny as a don’t walk sign in a paraplegic centre , The show is all bullshit , He rips people of with the cars , at the end they sell the car , they ad up how much they spend on the car + what they paid for the car . Then how much they made on the car . The truth is if they charged for man hours spent on car , they would loose on most of the cars they buy & sell . There work shop is squeaky clean Ants hands don’t get dirty & he dribbles on with so much crap .

Why can’t I get this channel on my iq4 Foxtel box? Also 7bravo and channel 10’s new channel will not update to my box, even after a full channel retune. Very frustrated Foxtel!!! Ive got gem, 7 mate, etc.. but not these new ones!
