Friday 28 February 1975 — MELBOURNE

The last day of black and white television with colour transmission officially launching at 12.00am on Saturday 1 March 1975. ABV2, HSV7 and ATV0 stayed on-air all night for the occasion. Colour programs indicated with (C)

Also on this evening the Nine Network was putting its new soap opera The Unisexers out of its misery after only three weeks on air.  The series, from the producers of hit show Number 96, had been a ratings flop.
