Saturday 26 September 1987 — VICTORIA

The VFL Grand Final — Carlton v Hawthorn — is telecast live on ABC.

ABC’s coverage begins with the all-night football marathon — highlights of past Grand Finals — a tradition initiated by former VFL broadcast partner HSV7.

The Seven Network was successful in re-gaining rights to cover VFL from season 1988.
