Melbourne’s traditional Carols By Candlelight is being televised for the first time in over a decade, with TEN10 screening the show in Sydney on delay. Hosting Carols from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl is Phil Gibbs with performances by Johnny Farnham, Robert Leeman, Aurora Muratti, Julie Raines, Ian McNeill and a 200-strong choir.

Meanwhile, channels ATN7 and TCN9 are also presenting their own Carols By Candlelight programs. Seven’s is a live broadcast from Sydney’s Eastwood Oval featuring Tommy Leonetti, Bob Rogers, Maggie Tabberer, Nancye Hayes and Claus Widman.

Nine’s Carols By Candlelight features variety show Sound Of Music stars Bill Newman, Mary Jane Boyd and Jennifer Bailey.

Other Christmas Eve specials include Christmas Was Meant For Children, hosted by Barry Crocker, and Nine’s Christmas Variety Special, featuring appearances by Nine Network personalities from around Australia.
