Monday 18 February 1985 — SYDNEY

Network 0/28 changes name to SBS, commences daytime programming and shifts its evening news to 7.00pm.

After 12 years in daytime, Nine’s The Mike Walsh Show moves to prime time. The move was not successful and The Mike Walsh Show was axed later in the year. Its daytime successor, Midday, continued in various forms until 1998.
