NWS9_jackpotgameNWS9 was Adelaide’s first television station, launching on Saturday, 5 September 1959.

Over the next few weeks Nine Adelaide celebrates its 55th anniversary with a photographic exhibition at its North Adelaide studios. The exhibition will display rare photos from NWS9’s early days, including former personalities John Doherty, Kevin Crease, Ernie Sigley, Anne Wills, Rob Kelvin, Humphrey B Bear, Bobo The Clown and Winky Dink.

NWS9 was originally owned by Rupert Murdoch as his first television station. Since last year NWS has been owned by Nine Entertainment Co.

The exhibition runs from Monday 8 September until Friday 26 September, open weekdays between 11am and 4pm at the Kevin Crease Studio, 202 Tynte Street, North Adelaide. Admission is free.
